Chairman Standing Committee on Communication (FPCCI) Former Minister Information Technology, Health and Environment Muhammad Noman Saigal said it is about time to bring a revolution by developing Smart Cities in the country. This revolution will structure the services of metropolitan department and other relevant departments lacks in the present scenario. Public sectors suffer due to the various issues and countless problems occur due to the unplanned structure of the major cities in Pakistan. If initially some cities are converted into Smart Cities even partially, new provision of services in health, energy and other sectors can take place because when a city is converted into a Smart City, it also has to fulfill all the requirements of technology which is only possible when the city becomes a complete city in all aspects.
The example of Smart City includes Hamburg in Germany and other advanced countries of Europe. These cities have the provision of all the needs of the public sector when it reaches the mark of Smart City.
Information Technology developed after the development of all the facilitation including all the services and utilities.Technology is the major component which takes place after fulfilling all the necessities because it is the most sophisticated component of the Road Map of any Smart City.
The quality of life automatically improves due to the advancement in all the sectors of Smart City. The education ratio will increase drastically; security element will also be addressed and could be control properly. The city considers some parameters which will cover almost everything.
The world has become so advanced but we still suffer from the basic utilities and need like water and power.
Technology is the only solution which will bring revolution in the country if at least five major cities of Pakistan are developed to there fullest and converted into Smart Cities.
