Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori has said that trade, diplomatic and cultural relations between Pakistan and Thailand are stable, but there is a need to expand them further. He was speaking to reporters at a National Day dinner organized by the Acting Consul General of Thailand Ms. SiriponTantiPanYathep at a local hotel.
On this occasion, former Governor of Sindh, Governor of Sindh Muhammad Mian Soomro, CM special assistant Tariq Khan, Honorary Trade Adviser of Thailand in Pakistan, Arif Sulaiman, diplomats of various countries, dignitaries of the city and a large number of Thai residing in the city participated.
The National Anthems of both countries were also played on this occasion, while a cake was also cut on the occasion of Thailand’s National Day.
Governor Sindh congratulated the Acting Consul General and the people of Thailand. Governor Sindh said that a large number of Pakistanis are going for tourism. We want Thai citizens to visit Pakistan and enjoy Pakistani tourism. Acting Consul General of Thailand Ms. Siriporn Tantipanyathep, said that relations with Pakistan are increasing. I have just posted here last week. I want to improve the relations between the two countries during my posting.
The trade advisor for Pakistan, Arif Sulaiman, said that the trade volume between the two countries is 400 billion US dollars, While in previous years the trade volume was decreased to 2.2 million due to Corona, now the covid is over and tourism has increased and we want to increase the trade again to more than 400 billion.
He said that about one lakh Pakistani tourists visit Thailand every year and it is increasing now.
Thai Airways Director Sales and Marketing Rashid Siddiqui, said that the air service between Pakistan and Thailand has been restored after the Covid and the flight service will be increased in the coming times.
