Scott briefed the governor on the organisation’s work in peacebuilding, clean water, healthcare, education, community development, and humanitarian programmes. She said these initiatives continue to improve the lives of communities across different regions.
The governor said stronger cooperation between public institutions and social organisations could expand welfare programmes and improve public services. He also praised Rotary International for its long-standing contributions to education, healthcare, peace, and community development.
Meanwhile, the discussion also covered regional issues. Governor Hashmi described the neighbouring country’s alleged water actions as a threat to regional peace, stability, and international law.
Referring to the Indus Waters Treaty, he said it remains an international agreement that no country can suspend or end unilaterally. He warned that any dispute over water could undermine regional stability and economic growth.
In addition, the governor urged the international community to help ensure full implementation of the treaty and encourage all parties to meet their international obligations.
Hashmi reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence. He added that the country’s leadership has earned international recognition for promoting regional peace and stability.
He said Pakistan will continue supporting lasting peace, shared prosperity, and constructive international cooperation across the region.
