Hyderabad, November 21 (HO): Secretary Information Sindh Nadeem-ur-Rehman Memon said that we were currently passing through the era of digitalization and competition, and the whole world was a market for our graduates if they would make themselves skilled and competent enough.
He was addressing as Chief Guest at the laptop distribution ceremony under Prime Minister Laptop Scheme, Phase III in the Senate Hall, Sindh Agriculture University, Tando Jam, this morning.
He said that there were solutions to the problems in the world’s research, experiments, inventions and to access it, students should acquire skills in IT.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Fateh Mari while addressing the ceremony said that IT was now of great importance in the world, especially in agriculture, the importance of technology could not be denied. He said that precision agriculture, climate smart agriculture, geographical information system, drone technology, digital marketing and information technology were prerequisites to achieve development adding that students of agricultural university will have to adapt to information technology in this modern era. Higher Education Commission’s Director of the Regional Training Center Javed Ali Memon said that HEC was providing modern facilities to the youth according their needs.
He said that besides providing opportunities in education HEC was also providing opportunities to youth in sports as well.
Manzoor Ali Rand, Regional Director of the scheme Sindh said that laptops were being given to one hundred thousand students in this scheme, earlier in 2013, more than five hundred thousand laptops had been distributed in first two phases in the Prime Minister Youth Scheme, while in the 3rd phase of the scheme a large number of students of Sindh would be benefited.
Later, Secretary Information Department Sindh Nadeem-ur-Rehman Memon and
Vice Chancellor of Sindh Agriculture University Tando Jam Dr. Fateh Muhammad Marri gave the laptops to 40 position holders students. Under scheme 1025 students of Agriculture University Tandojam would receive laptop from next Monday.
On this occasion, Dean Social Sciences Dr. Ejaz Ali Khonharu, Focal Person of Laptop Scheme of Sindh Agricultural University Dr. Barkatullah Qureshi, Dr. Farkhanda Warsi and Dean Dr. Ghiyasuddin Shah Rashidi also spoke on the occasion. Dean Dr. Manzoor Ali Abro, Principal ZA Bhutto Agricultural College Dokri Dr. Sultan Ahmad Mathlo, Registrar Ghulam Mohiuddin Qureshi, Dr. Muhammad Ismail Kumbhar, teachers and others were present.
