Jamshoro (February 09, 2026): Shaheed Allah Buksh Soomro (SABS) University of Art, Design andHeritages Jamshoro organized a Debate Competition on the topic “Role of Youth in the Kashmir Freedom Movement” at the university campus in connection with the observance of Kashmir Day.
The event aimed to raise awareness among students about the decades long struggle of the Kashmiri people and to emphasize the responsibility of youth in advocating peace, justice, and human rights.
The program began with the observance of a one-minute silence to pay tribute to the martyrs of Kashmir and to express solidarity with the oppressed people of the region. A large number of students, faculty members, and academic leadership attended the event, reflecting strong support for the Kashmir cause.

The event was graced by prominent faculty leaders including Shoukat Ali Khokhar, Shazia Abro, Sanam Bhutto and Muhammad Saleem Jhatial. The speakers appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to remain intellectually and socially active on national and international issues.
During the debate, students highlighted that the youth play a pivotal role in the Kashmir Freedom Movement by raising awareness through education, media, and peaceful advocacy. 







The students stressed that informed and responsible youth can counter misinformation, amplify the voices of
Kashmiris at global forums, and promote unity and resilience.
At the conclusion of the competition, Faiqa Shan, Meerab Fatima and Dua Akhtar achieved 1 st , 2 nd , and 3 rd positions respectively. Shields and certificates were awarded to the winners for their outstanding performance.
