INVOKE EQUAL JUSTICE & TRANSPARENT ACCOUNTABILITY BEGINING FROM YOUR SISTER’S ASSETS IN DUBAI–
PART-1
Its over three weeks that brought you to government. You need to answer the following:
1.How the 240 billion dollars of Pakistanis’ funds are sitting in bank accounts in Switzerland?
2.How the 150 billion dollars of Pakistani owned assets are sitting in Dubai?
3.Why a list of individuals in the above two categories has not been published by your government?
4.Why an action has not been taken on the 400 individuals listed as owners in Panama gate?
Can you show efforts of your government in the recovery of those funds, if not, why not?
PART-2
1.Overseas Pakistanis contribute well over 16 billion dollars yearly through banking channels to Pakistan. Besides this, they carry money and gifts on frequent visits to Pakistan. Pakistan’s net budget is around 45 billion dollars annually, of which half of this is earned by 5,000,000 (5 million) in the Pakistani diaspora. What is the contribution of 215,000,000 (215 million) populace including yourself living in Pakistan?
2.Please provide list of individuals with citizenship and residency status who have money laundered funds to:
a.Panama
b.Dubai
c.Switzerland
d.U.K.
e.Canada
3.How were those funds transferred?
4.Who was responsible to oversee those legitimate and illegitimate transactions in the security apparatus of Pakistan?
5.What were the source of those funds?
Overseas Pakistanis with honest foreign earnings are the backbone of Pakistan’s economy, however there are those who have sold their assets in Pakistan and transferred their funds through illegitimate means. And then there are those who are earning in Pakistan and yet transferring funds overseas as active businessmen in Pakistan.
And finally, there are those whose earnings are through kick-backs and corrupt practices.
Such a list includes those within the PTI government and requires thorough investigation including collection of millions of dollars of party funds by the PTI herself from overseas sources.
CONCLUSION:
Overseas Pakistanis do care for Pakistan, and in this care they want transparency and rule of law to be invoked in the country.
They do not trust old wine in a new bottle.
Something substantive needs to be displayed in implementing equal justice and transparent accountability to build the confidence of the diaspora.
The ball is in IK’s court.
