The Punjab administration will construct cancer hospitals for the complimentary treatment of patients in the public sector, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has declared.
She was examining the proposed location of Punjab’s inaugural government cancer hospital near Valencia Town on Monday.
The chief minister gave instructions to draw in the finest specialist doctors globally and equip the hospital with state-of-the-art technology for the free treatment of cancer patients in the region.
Additionally, she instructed the construction of a hotel at the site for the attendants of the patients admitted to the forthcoming hospital.
Previously, the chief minister received a comprehensive briefing about the hospital project.
Former senator Pervaiz Rashid, Members of Punjab Assembly Khawaja Salman Rafiq, Khawaja Imran Nazir, Sania Ashiq, the chief secretary, senior member of the Board of Revenue, provincial secretaries of communications and works, cooperatives, the commissioner and DC of Lahore, and other relevant officers were present at the event.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz visited Wahdat Colony after inspecting the cancer hospital site for an impromptu visit to the Government Pilot Secondary Girls School.
As per an official statement, she visited a classroom and sat among the students.
The chief minister inquired about the students’ lessons and praised their responses.
She motivated the girl students to maintain cleanliness in their classrooms after observing wrappers scattered around.
The chief minister inquired about the schoolgirls’ problems and requirements.
The students requested improvements in the library, laboratory, and the organization of events in the school.
