PM Karachi package has been sent to Federation for approval: Sohail Rajput

Chief Secretary Sindh Dr. Sohail Rajput has said that discussion is underway with the federal government on how to reactivate the National Action Plan and NECTA. We face shortage of police force is accross Karachi, recruitment and training process is underway, relief must be given to the people affected by inflation, an independent board of KW&SB will be formed, there is lot of potential in the IT sector accross the country, to revive exonomy the only solution to the problem is to increase exports, work is being started on the recycling plant to alleviate the water shortage. 

He expressed these viewing while talking to KATI’s members and Media during a luncheon meeting, Parton-in-Chief of KATI SM Muneer, President Salman Aslam, Senior Vice President Maheen Salman, CEO of KITE Limited Zubair Chhaya, Ikram Rajput, Former President of KATI Danish Khan, Masood Naqi, Sheikh Umer Rehan also addressed on the occasion while Vice President KATI Syed Farrukh Ali Qandhari, Gulzar Firoz, Shakeel Dhingra, Farooq Afzal, Saleem-uz-Zaman and others were also present.

Sohail Rajput said that it is a fact that there is a lack of transparency in the country, Karachi’s roads, sewerage and other infrastructure is not good. He said that work would be started on the infrastructure of the industrial areas of the city and the would solve the problems of the industrial area together. The funds given to KITE Ltd. have improved the infrastructure of Korangi Industrial Area. 

He also said that the Prime Minister has demolished the duty on solar energy by 17 percent. The world’s currency has risen, the United States has raised interest rates for the first time, the city’s and industry’s improvement is possible only through public-private partnerships. This will be done so that people can get electricity from alternative sources. Chief Secretary Sindh said in response to a question that efforts will be made to repairing of Jam Sadiq budget, with reference to Qayyumabad bridge from the crossing. 

Sohail Rajput further said that there is scope for improvement in the water board, if the water board is run properly improvements can be made. Meetings have also been held with Sindh Chief Minister on Malir Expressway. The private sector can play an important role in resolving employment issues. There is a need to create conducive environment in the private sector. 

Sohail Rajput said that there is a lot of demand in the IT sector all over the world is grooming. To solve the problem, we have to increase exports. Karachi is an exporting city but its industrialists are facing other problems including electricity, water, gas. We have also informed the Prime Minister in this regard. 

Patron-in-Chief KATI SM Muneer said thay we condemn those who are chanting against the Pakistani forces. We are safe in our homes because of the Pakistani forces. He said that since 1998 K4 project is ins pending. He said that due to non-supply of water the factories were shifted to Punjab. If we get our water then I will set up my factories here again. He said that there is no one to control the water board, crores of rupees are being earned daily by corrupt black sheeps. He said that the dollar has doubled in the country, the government should have banned the import of luxury items long ago. President KATI Salman Aslam said that Korangi Industrial Area covers an area of 10,000 acres. There are 5,000 industries operating in the Korangi Industrial Area. Employment is associated with mills. Due to the current political situation, there is a great deal of concern in the business community. Chairman of KITE Limited Zubair Chhaya said that Sindh especially Karachi city has become a problem land and city is becoming a leader in ruin, everywhere we can seen parking mafia and other dominating the people. 

KATI Standing Committee Chairman, Ikram Rajput said that the Chief Secretary, while proving that Hyderabad is the best grandson, gave the status of university to the college from which he studied in Hyderabad, which would provide the best educational facilities to the youth there.
