KARACHI: The Government of Pakistan has announced the issuance of a special Rs75 commemorative coin to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.
SBP to Issue Rs75 Commemorative Coin Marking 75 Years of Pakistan-China Diplomatic Relations
According to a statement issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the commemorative coin will be available to the public from May 25, 2026, through exchange counters of SBP Banking Services Corporation field offices across the country.
Pakistan and China formally established diplomatic relations on May 21, 1951. Since then, both countries have maintained strong political, economic, and strategic ties.
Coin Features and Specifications
The commemorative coin will be round in shape with serrated edges. Moreover, it will feature a copper-nickel composition containing 75% copper and 25% nickel.
The coin will have a diameter of 36 millimeters and a weight of 19 grams.
Obverse Side Highlights National Identity
On the obverse side, the coin displays Pakistan’s crescent moon and five-pointed star facing northwest in a rising position.
In addition, the words “Islami Jamhuria Pakistan” are inscribed in Urdu along the upper edge. The year “2026” appears below the crescent, while the face value “75” and the word “Rupia” in Urdu are placed on both sides of the symbol.
Reverse Side Celebrates Pakistan-China Relations
The reverse side highlights the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.
It features the national flags of both countries along with the words “75th Anniversary of Pakistan and China Diplomatic Relations” around the upper edge. Furthermore, the slogan “Trust Friendship Support” is written along the lower edge.
The design also includes an artistic “75” with the years “1951” and “2026” on either side. Urdu and Chinese inscriptions celebrating bilateral relations and friendship are also part of the design.
Symbol of Lasting Strategic Partnership
The commemorative coin reflects the long-standing friendship and strategic partnership between Pakistan and China. Over the decades, both countries have expanded cooperation in trade, infrastructure, defense, and regional connectivity.
The launch of the special coin also aims to honor the historic diplomatic journey and strengthen people-to-people connections between the two nations.
