S&P Global and the S&P Global Foundation announced the next phase of the $10 million StepForward initiative to help prepare young people for an AI-driven economy.
The three-year global program focuses on workforce readiness, AI literacy, and digital skills development.
Launched in December 2025, StepForward supports organizations delivering innovative AI education and employment programs worldwide.
Urdu AI to Expand AI Literacy Across Pakistan
Mujeeb Zahur said the initiative will support Urdu AI in providing accessible AI literacy training through mobile-friendly Urdu-language courses.
According to him, the platform aims to reach youth across Pakistan and support a global Urdu-speaking community of more than one million learners.
The courses will focus on practical AI knowledge, digital literacy, and problem-solving skills.
MIT Solve and Global Partners Join Initiative
The S&P Global Foundation also partnered with MIT Solve through the Essential Innovation Challenge.
The collaboration identified six regional nonprofit organizations to deliver workforce development programs tailored to local market needs.
These organizations will receive funding to expand AI learning and human-centered skills programs, including Urdu AI in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Qaisar Roonjha said the partnership will help underserved communities gain access to AI education in their native language.
He emphasized that young people in Pakistan deserve opportunities to participate in the AI economy on their own terms.
Global Organizations to Promote AI and Future Skills
Generation and MIT RAISE will also receive grants to run AI-focused youth development and employment programs.
In addition, the United Nations Youth Office will support a global awareness campaign focused on future-ready skills and changing labor markets.
The organization will use its digital platforms to engage more than one million young people worldwide.
S&P Global Expands AI Upskilling Efforts
S&P Global stated that it continues to promote AI adoption and workforce development through its education initiatives and employee training programs.
The company highlighted programs such as EssentialTECH, AI for Everyone, and internal AI tools including Kensho Spark Assist.
