Lahore: Pakistan U-18 baseball team is waiting for government NOC to participate in Asian U-18 Baseball Championship in Taiwan. The departure of Pakistan U-18 baseball team was scheduled last night. Pakistan U18 Baseball Team Despite having valid visas, air tickets, and full arrangements by the host Baseball Federation of Asia(BFA), the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has not yet approved the NOC for our U18 National Team to fly to Chinese Taipei for the U18 Asian Baseball Championship.
The PSB’s decision was based on a letter received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), which the Pakistan Federation Baseball (PFB) submitted to the PSB for further action from MOFA and the Inter-
Provincial Coordination (IPC) Ministry.
Secretary Pakistan Federation Baseball
Syed Fakhar Ali Shah while talking in conversation with Media Manager Parvez Ahmed Sheikh said that “We have already responded to the PSB and filed a complaint regarding the MOFA letter. Even if the NOC is granted tomorrow, our current tickets are non-refundable, and we may need to purchase new tickets immediately. We urge the authorities to act promptly to enable our team’s participation and ensure they can represent Pakistan at this important event”.
The said championship is also a World Cup qualifier, so for the best interest of Pakistan and the better future of the players, the Pakistan Baseball Federation will bear the loss. Pakistani players living in other countries for educational scholarships and baseball training in the Pakistan team have already arrived in Taiwan.
In case of non-participation, the world body can ban Pakistan and impose heavy fines. In this regard, Syed Fakhar Ali Shah has said in a video message released for the media that in case of going without NOC, it will be a violation of the government of Pakistan, which we never want. We should always follow the laws of our country and we are now waiting for the NOC.
