Karachi ,Dated: 16 May 2025 : In a comprehensive Hajj orientation and training session for pilgrims departing in the coming days, Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council and Special Representative to the Prime Minister on Religious Harmony, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, delivered a spiritually enriching address. He emphasized the sanctity of Hajj, the need for discipline, and strict adherence to authorized procedures, while urging pilgrims to perform the sacred rituals with humility, sincerity, and patience.
“Hajj is a blessing of Allah and an invitation from Him. Those among you who have been granted this opportunity must perform the Arkaan-e-Hajj with the same zeal and sincerity as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH),” Ashrafi stated. “Avoid engaging in disputes, quarrels, or showing off. Perform each ritual with humility and focus. When you reach the stage of Rami, throw stones at Shaitaan with full belief that you are rejecting evil and reaffirming your faith.”
He cautioned pilgrims to only rely on government-authorized Hajj operators. “No one should go through unofficial or unauthorized channels. Any attempt to perform Hajj without proper registration is not only a legal offense in Saudi Arabia but also contrary to Islamic principles,” he stressed.
Highlighting the correct methods of performing Hajj, he shared detailed guidelines for both men and women:
For Men:
Wear two unstitched white sheets (Ihram) without covering the head.
Perform brisk walking (Ramal) during the first three circuits of Tawaf.
Shave the head completely (Halq) after the ritual of sacrifice and stoning.
For Women:
Wear regular modest clothing for Ihram with the head covered and face uncovered.
Perform Tawaf and Sa’i at a normal pace without brisk walking.
Trim a fingertip-length of hair instead of shaving.
“Observe these guidelines with sincerity. Every action has spiritual meaning and reward. Respect the divine etiquettes and fulfill your duties as guests of Allah,” Ashrafi advised.
He also reassured pilgrims about the extensive arrangements made by the Government of Pakistan. “Our Muawineen (assistants) are present at every turn, every street, and every major location to assist you. You can easily communicate in Urdu over there so wait for any mauwineen, he will have the card with them. Do not panic if you feel lost or face any confusion. If you can’t find your tent, wait calmly—Muawineen will reach you. The government has taken all possible steps to ensure you fulfill your religious obligation in peace, comfort, and safety.”
He concluded by advising pilgrims to avoid social misconduct. “Stay in your assigned tents, maintain cleanliness, and avoid unnecessary mingling. Do not indulge in begging—it is inappropriate for a guest of Allah. Let your behavior reflect the sanctity of this great journey.”
Ashrafi also lauded the Saudi government’s efforts in managing the Hajj arrangements and providing services like the Route to Makkah facility, which has significantly eased travel for Pakistani pilgrims.
The training session ended with a collective prayer for the safe, smooth, and spiritually rewarding Hajj journey of all attendees.
