Karachi honors ‘martyrs of Quds’ at World Day of Resistance

Iran’s Consul General in Karachi, Akbar Eisa Zadeh, said the resistance front had entered a new phase, promising “meaningful results,” and stressed that the Muslim world’s progress depended on unity and resistance. He described resistance as encompassing not only armed struggle but also economic, cultural, media, and diplomatic efforts, framing it as a tool for regional influence and development.
Speakers at the event underlined the importance of Muslim solidarity. Hasan Habib, former senior diplomat and chairman of the Pakistan Council for Foreign Relations, warned against global powers exploiting internal differences. Mohammed Irfan Soomro, Director General laison Foreign Ministry office in Karachi, called Iran a vital neighbor and highlighted mutual support between the two countries during regional conflicts, urging dialogue over coercion to resolve disputes.
Religious leaders also spoke on the global political impact of resistance. Maulana Muhammad Hussain Mehnati credited Imam Khomeini with embedding the Palestinian cause in Iranian policy, while Allama Ghulam Shabbir Meesami condemned threats against Iran and praised resistance as a path to freedom.
Maulana Syed Ahmed Iqbal Zaidi and Abul Khair Zubair criticized the Abraham Accords and extremist groups, highlighting Qassem Soleimani’s role in defending the Muslim world.
The event drew religious scholars, diplomats, civil society figures, academics, and media representatives from across Karachi, celebrating the martyrs of Quds and emphasizing unity in the face of international and regional challenges.
