The last time Labor Day fell on September 7 in a normal year was 2015, when Apple unveiled the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus on Wednesday, September 9.

That historical pattern makes September 9 a leading possibility for Apple’s 2026 event, although the company has yet to confirm the date.

Possible iPhone 18 Pro pre-order date

If Apple follows the September 9 schedule, pre-orders could begin on Saturday, September 12. The possibility is notable because Apple also opened pre-orders on a Saturday in 2015, when the iPhone 6s launched.

However, Friday remains the more common day for Apple’s iPhone pre-orders. If the company follows its usual schedule this year, the timing could therefore differ from the 2015 launch.
