Industrial visit was arranged by the Department of Electrical Engineering (IoBM) to Integrated Dynamics, a private company having two decade experience in design, test and commissioning of Unmanned Autonomous Vehicles (UAVs) targeted for local R&D institutions and foreign entities.
A one to one meeting was held between Dr Muhammad Imran Majid Associate Professor Electrical Engineering Department and Mr Raja Sabri Khan, MIT trained CEO of Integrated Dynamics. Also present were students from the Communication System class. The discussion focused on current Senior Design Projects related to Deployment of an Unmanned Aerial Relay Network.

The students were shown around the workshop and introduced to various staff members. They were shown how miniaturization and modularity have made ground stations mobile and compact. They were also shown various sizes and quantities of purpose built jet and battery propelled UAVS including NISHAN MK-II and BURRAQ. Of special mention is Mr Raja Sabri Khan’s array of heavy bikes including a Harley Davidson. This speaks volumes of his practical skills as Mechanical Engineer.
The trip was of immense value to students as it exposed them to a practical work environment and provided a platform to further exchange their ideas for commercialization of research motivating hands on training. This also provides BE in Electrical Engineering students the opportunity to liase with industry experts which will assist in transition to OBE Curriculum.
