Karachi, Pakistan: Karachi will host the international poetry gathering on April 20 at the expo. Provincial Minister Syed Zulfiqar Ali met with the Chief Organizer of the Sakinan e Shahar, Mahmood Ahmed Khan, who leads the delegation meeting with the delegation.
Regarding the 29th Annual International Poetry Gathering in the city, Chief Organizer Mahmood Ahmed Khan briefed Provincial Minister Syed Zulfiqar Ali that poets from various cities of the country as well as from abroad will participate. The government is taking steps to promote literary and cultural activities in the city. Provincial Minister Syed Zulfiqar Ali said that the successful organization of the International Poetry Gathering is a significant and positive effort in promoting art and culture.

They were meeting with a delegation led by Chief Organizer Mahmood Ahmed Khan at his office on Tuesday. Members of the delegation included Syed Turab Shah, Khalid Jameel Shamsi, Zafar Nadeem Sadiqi, Tawqeer A Khan, Dr. Shabir Arain, and Jamal Azhar. It was informed to the provincial minister that this year the international poetry gathering will be held at the expo in Karachi on April 20. The participation of a large number of poets is expected in the gathering. Poets from Islamabad, Lahore, Azad Kashmir, Bahawalpur, Abbottabad, and Gwadar, among other cities, have been invited to participate in the gathering.
The participation of poets from the United States, Britain, Germany, Canada, Bahrain, and Qatar is expected in the gathering. Provincial Minister Syed Zulfiqar Ali said that the tradition of organizing the International Poetry Gathering in Karachi has strengthened the government’s policy of promoting cultural and literary activities. Such efforts should continue. The administration under the residents of Karachi is cooperating in every possible way for the success of the International Poetry Gathering.
