The emphatic victory takes Inter to 72 points, opening up a nine-point gap ahead of their closest challengers, with just seven matches remaining in the season.
Striker duo Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram led the charge with a brilliant attacking partnership. Martinez scored twice, including a goal just 59 seconds into the match, while Thuram contributed a goal and two assists in a standout performance.
Roma briefly equalised through Gianluca Mancini, but Inter regained control with a stunning long-range strike from Hakan Calhanoglu before halftime.
In the second half, Inter overwhelmed the visitors as Thuram set up Martinez again before heading in himself. Nicolo Barella added a fifth goal, while Lorenzo Pellegrini scored a consolation for Roma.
Martinez, returning from injury, expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, praising Thuram’s influence and the squad’s strong response against a competitive Roma side.
The result puts Inter in firm control of the title race as they await the outcome of the clash between AC Milan and Napoli.
