The development comes following the passing of former Chairman Mazhar-ul-Haq Siddiqui, after which the Board of Directors approved Sultana Siddiqui’s appointment as Chairperson to fill the vacant position with immediate effect.
Sultana Siddiqui, one of South Asia’s most prominent media personalities, began her career as a producer at PTV Karachi Studios in 1974. She later founded HUM Network in 2005, which has since grown into one of Pakistan’s leading entertainment media groups and was recognized among the top companies by the Pakistan Stock Exchange in 2009 and 2020.
Widely regarded as the first woman in South Asia to establish a television network, she has received numerous national and international awards for her contributions to the media industry. Under her leadership, HUM TV productions have also won multiple Lux Style Awards for best drama serials over several consecutive years.
The company acknowledged her long-standing contributions in shaping HUM Network’s growth and success, particularly in strengthening Pakistan’s television drama industry and expanding its global reach.
The Board’s decision reflects continuity in leadership while honoring her decades-long association with the organization and her role in its strategic direction.
