Karachi: The FPCCI Standing Committee for Public Relations and Communications (2024-25) held its inaugural meeting on May 25, 2024, at the Federation House, Karachi. The session saw the participation of notable figures including Shujaat Ali Baig, Convener; Turab Shah, Deputy Convener & Head of Marketing Ausaf Group; Imran Rana, Secretary to the FPCCI Committee and SeniorDirectorCommunications, Insights & Innovations K-Electric; Hasan Saeed, JS Bank; Shahbaz Islam, SSGC; Changgaiz Hussain Khan, PIA; Ammar Muzaffar, K-Electric; Mudassir Alam, Profit & Pakistan Today; Ali Pesani, Union Microfinance Bank; Mehmood Ahmed Khan, MD of Star Marketing; and Irfan Ahmed, Senior Representative to the FPCCI President.


The committee reiterated its commitment to serving as a bridge between the media, stakeholders, and the FPCCI, aiming to resolve issues and maintain a positive public image for the organization. Convener Shujaat Ali Baig underscored as part of the inaugural address the pivotal role of public relations in fostering connections between the FPCCI and its diverse stakeholders.


Key points discussed at the meeting included planning for national holidays and events celebrations, formation of sub-committees, engagement strategies, invitation protocols, committee roles, regional expansion, plans, events calendar, activities, and a membership drive.


The committee resolved to celebrate significant events, plan engaging activities, and strengthen relationships with various stakeholders. Imran Rana was formally confirmed as the committee secretary, and a sub-committee led by Hasan Saeed was also established to finalize plans for activities in 2024 and 2025.


The meeting concluded with a strategic plan to extend FPCCI activities beyond Karachi, highlighting the business potential of regions, particularly under the CPEC initiative. The committee also intends to invite key figures to discuss economic opportunities and business challenges.
