FPCCI leaders on Monday expressed heartfeltly condolence over the sudden and sad demise of renowned banking and insurance professional Salim Nawaz who died due to Covid-19 infection.
The deceased has served in important positions in Afghanistan International Bank, Bank of Punjab, Soneri Bank, and a number of local and multinational insurance companies and he was also an active member of the FPCCI Central Standing Committee on Insurance.
An online condolence meeting was held in which the contributions of Salim Nawaz were discussed and rich tributes were paid to him.
FPCCI’s Businessmen Panel SVP and President Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum Mian Zahid Hussain, Convener FPCCI Central Standing Committee on Insurance Dr. Murtaza Mughal, Brig. (retd) Aslam Khan Chairman Pakistan Economy Watch, Qazi Asif Saeed CEO Indemnifier Private Limited, Altamash Malik General Manager of United Insurance Company (UIC), Syed Turab Shah Member Pakistan US Business Council of FPCCI/ Former Deputy Convenor FPCCI Central Standing Committee on Corporate Relations and Communications and others participated in the meeting.
The participants said that sudden death of Salim Nawaz was very shocking and an irreparable loss which will be felt for decades.
He was a thorough professional, a mentor, a gentleman having incomparable skills in product development, marketing, systems development, training, re-engineering, and operations while has also launched a number of new products while working in different companies.
He also worked hard and proposed a number of implementable reforms in the banking and insurance industry which improved the working of these important sectors, they added.

He was considered the ultimate gentleman by his colleagues in banking and insurance circles. His honesty, negotiation skills, and personality contributed to his successes and earned him a critical role wherever he served.
His humility and generosity were exceeded only by his warmth and humor.
