The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has announced that the month of Shawwal will not be visible in Pakistan, thus Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 3 across the country.

A meeting of the Central Route Hilal Committee was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.
Maulana Abdul Khabir announced in the presence of the members of the Central Route Hilal Committee that the information was clear all over the country, the moon of the month of Shawwal was nowhere to be seen.
He also announced that the provincial and zonal committees have been contacted in this regard. Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated across the country on Tuesday, May 3.
Earlier, zonal committees met in Karachi, Peshawar, Lahore and Quetta.
After the meeting held in Karachi, the zonal committee announced that Shawwal moon has not been seen in Shar-e-Quaid.
A meeting of Zonal Routet Hilal Committee was held in Lahore, after which Punjab officials spoke to the media.
The Zonal Sighting Hilal Committee confirmed that no evidence of sighting of the moon has been received in Punjab. The final announcement regarding sighting of the moon will be made by the Central Sighting Hilal Committee.
The meeting was attended by members of the Zonal Routet Hilal Committee and officials of the Meteorological Department. It was informed on this occasion that the age of the moon at present is 17 hours.
The Balochistan Zonal Routet Hilal Committee met in Quetta.
The Meteorological Department had earlier said that the moon is not likely to appear today, Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to be on Tuesday, May 3.
