Karachi: 4th July, 2023: Commissioner Inland Revenue Girdhari Mal Large Tax Payers Office Karachi, while giving a media briefing on tax collection during 2022-2023, said that despite the difficult economic conditions, we have collected 2076 billion rupees in tax in 2022-2023. , when last year they managed to achieve the target of 1685 billion rupees.
He further said that this year due to floods, the economic loss was about 30 billion dollars, trade deficit, depreciation of rupee, decrease in exports and despite the tough economic conditions, they were able to collect taxes of 2076 billion rupees.
Commissioner Inland Revenue Girdhari Mal further said that the inflation rate had come to a dangerous situation at the international level that the countries like USA and UK were hard pressed to control it. He further informed that the major contributors of Large Tax Payers Office Karachi are more than 40 sectors mainly including Banks, Airline industry, Auto Sector, Insurance, Oil Refinery, Sugar and Textile etc.
