Karachi, December 19, 2025: Federal Minister for Education & Professional Training Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui inaugurated the Book Shop at NIPA (National Institute of Public Administration) Karachi in collaboration with the National Book Foundation (NBF) and attended an Urdu Mushaira (Sham-e-Adab). Emphasizing the importance of language and literature, the Federal Minister stated, “We have forgotten the importance of the Urdu language, and through coordination with the National Book Foundation, we are reviving this lost treasure.” He further remarked, “Books are not just letters written on paper; every human being is a story.”

During the ceremony, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Federal Minister for Education & Professional Training, also presided over the launch of the book CSS Criminology, authored by Noor Ali. The Federal Minister met the author and appreciated his academic contribution towards competitive examinations and research in criminology. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Saif Ur Rehman, Director General NIPA, highlighted that the establishment of the book shop is essential for providing immediate access to quality academic resources.

He stated that the collaboration between NIPA and the National Book Foundation has resulted in productive academic outcomes, strengthened the learning environment, encouraged a culture of reading, and promoted research-oriented thinking among participants. Several senators and senior officials were also present and appreciated the initiative.
Later in the evening, an Urdu Mushaira (Sham-e-Adab) was held to celebrate Urdu literature, where Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Federal Minister for Education & Professional Training, attended as Chief Guest in recognition of his proficiency, taste, and refined style in the Urdu language. Addressing the gathering, he said, “Mushaira is a true reflection of our language, and its real charm lies in the expression of poets.” Renowned poets who participated included Mr. Sahar Ansari (Presiding), Mr. Anwar Shaor, Dr. Fatima Hassan, Mr. Shadab Ahsani, Mr. Khalid Irfan, Mr. Khalid Moin, and Mr. Abdul Rehman Momin. The event was moderated by Ms. Ambreen Haseeb Ambar.
Participants termed the initiative a significant step towards promoting reading habits and preserving literary traditions. The NBF-NIPA Book Shop is expected to serve as a knowledge hub for students, researchers, and literature enthusiasts.
