KARACHI – February 27, 2026 – Mian Zahid Hussain, President Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum & All Karachi Industrial Alliance, Chairman National Business Group Pakistan, Chairman Policy Advisory Board FPCCI, and Former Provincial Minister Information Technology, strongly condemned yesterday’s cowardly attack on Pakistan by illicit Afghan Taliban regime. He stated that this attack reflects the nefarious designs of India, Israel and Afghan illicit regime, and that the befitting response to this attack by the Pakistan Armed Forces will prove to be a nightmare for the Afghan illicit regime.
Mian Zahid Hussain expressed full support for the Pakistan Armed Forces upon the launch of Operation ‘Ghazab Lil Haq’. He said that this intelligence-based military campaign, which targets terrorist sanctuaries and their networks present in Afghanistan, is a highly crucial and necessary step for restoring peace, protecting innocent Pakistani citizens, and securing the economic future of the country.
The escalating wave of cross-border terrorism has inflicted a heavy toll on the national landscape, demanding a resolute intervention. Comprehensive data from the Pak Institute for Peace Studies (PIPS) reveals a staggering 34 percent increase in terrorist attacks during the past year. In 2025 alone, Pakistan endured 699 coordinated attacks that tragically claimed the lives of 1,034 individuals and left 1,366 seriously injured. Law enforcement and military personnel have disproportionately borne the brunt of this violence, accounting for over 42 percent of the total terrorism-related fatalities. Furthermore, some security reports indicated a 36 percent rise in organized infiltration, with nearly 4,000 militants breaching the borders in the latter half of the year—roughly 80 percent of whom were foreign nationals. This stark reality left the state with no alternative but to act.
“No nation can sustain economic growth and foster a conducive business environment under the constant shadow of terrorism,” stated Mian Zahid Hussain. “The decisive actions taken under Operation Ghazab Lil Haq are not just matters of border defense; they are essential prerequisites for our economic wellbeing and survival. He said, “the business community stands completely united with our security forces in their mission to eradicate these threats.”
As of early morning on Friday, operations under Ghazab Lil Haq have yielded substantial results.
Precision strikes successfully neutralized 133 militants, dismantling at least twenty seven major camps, nine seized and destroyed key ammunition depots in areas including Kabul, Kandahar, and Paktika. These preemptive measures send a definitive message that the use of foreign soil to launch attacks against Pakistani citizens and security forces will be met with an uncompromising response.
As the Chairman of the National Business Group Pakistan and the Policy Advisory Board of FPCCI, Mian Zahid Hussain highlighted the direct, undeniable correlation between internal security and economic prosperity. The persistent instability, heavily concentrated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan—witnessed over 95 percent of the terrorist incidents in the previous year—severely disrupts supply chains, deters foreign direct investment, and paralyzes local industrial outputs. When businesses operate in a climate of fear, the entire economic machinery of the nation stalls.
A secure and peaceful border is the absolute minimum requirement for regional trade and connectivity. The targeted dismantling of militant networks under Operation Gazab Lil Haq serves to protect national sovereignty while laying the groundwork for a more stable, investment-friendly climate. Mian Zahid Hussain concluded his statement by honoring the sacrifices of the armed forces and reiterating the private sector’s unwavering commitment to Pakistan’s resilience and progress.
