KARACHI: Manzar Naqvi, Secretary General of Karachi Editors Club (KEC) and Executive Editor of The Financial Daily, recently had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Saeid Talebinia, the Director of Khana-e-Farhang Iran and the Cultural Attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Karachi. The two had an exclusive chat where they discussed several topics of mutual interest, including ways to enhance people to people and especially cultural, bilateral, and business relations between their respective countries.

During the meeting, Manzar Naqvi proposed the exchange of journalist, business, and cultural delegations between Iran and Pakistan, a suggestion that was well received by Dr. Talebinia. They agreed that exchange of delegations would provide an opportunity for individuals from both countries to learn more about each other’s cultures, businesses, and ways of life, which could potentially lead to increased cooperation and understanding.

The meeting between these two distinguished individuals is a testament to the growing ties between Iran and Pakistan, and the willingness of both nations to work together towards a common goal of progress and development.

During their meeting, Dr. Talebinia shared some fascinating insights with Manzar Naqvi about the nature of Iranian society. According to Dr. Talebinia, Iran is a country where all Muslims are united as one nation, with no sectarian divisions or discrimination between different sects. Regardless of whether one is a Hanafi Muslim or a Shia Muslim, they pray together in harmony and respect each other’s beliefs. It is common practice in Iran for Hanafi Muslims to lead the Jamaat of Namaz in certain places, with Shia Muslims following them, and vice versa where Shia Aalam leads Jamaat and Hanafis follow him without any discrimination.

Moreover, Dr. Talebinia emphasized that in Iran, all mosques are open to Muslims of all sects and backgrounds, and the nation is united in its belief that the only true superpower is Allah. He further added that Iran has been fighting against US aggression for the last 44 years and has successfully repelled several attempts by the United States to undermine its sovereignty and independence.

Dr. Talebinia expressed that these insights into Iranian society paint a picture of a nation that is deeply committed to unity, mutual respect, and the pursuit of common goals. Despite facing significant challenges and threats from external forces, the people of Iran remain steadfast in their faith and belief in the strength of their nation. By sharing these insights with Manzar Naqvi, Dr. Talebinia has helped to foster greater understanding and appreciation between Iran and Pakistan, and has laid the groundwork for a stronger and more cooperative relationship between the two nations.

Dr. Saeid Talebenia presented Manzar Naqvi with a fascinating book by Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenai, titled “A Human of 250 Years (On Four Eras of Imamat)”. This book, which has been translated into Urdu by Syed Kausar Abbas Moosvi, is based on Ayatollah Khamenai’s speeches and messages on various occasions, providing a comprehensive review of the political life and struggles of the Ahle Bait (A.S).

Dr. Talebenia highlighted that the book covers the efforts and struggles for Islam of all 12 Imams (A.S) after the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAAW), from 11 Hijra to 260 Hijra, which spans 250 years of Islamic history. The book provides a unique and valuable insight into the political and religious history of Islam, offering readers a deeper understanding of the foundations upon which this great faith was built. This exchange of cultural and intellectual resources can serve as a powerful tool for building stronger relationships and promoting greater cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Towards the end of their meeting, Manzar Naqvi had the pleasure of presenting his two travelogue books, “The Land of Ataturk” and “Amazing China”, to Dr. Saeid Talebinia. The books, which offer a detailed and vivid account of his travels through Turkey and China, are a testament to Naqvi’s passion for exploring and documenting different cultures and societies around the world.

The presentation of these books was a fitting end to the meeting that was marked by a genuine spirit of cultural exchange and mutual appreciation. Alongside Naqvi and Dr. Talebinia, the meeting was also attended by Syed Najamuddin Moosvi PRO Iran Cultural Centre and Peerbadami Cultural Assistant who added their own unique perspectives and insights to the conversation.
