Karachi : SAP’s Senior Vice President Middle East and North Africa,Ahmed Al -Faifi, on his visit to Pakistan, attended The Future Summit 6th Edition, organized by the Nutshell Group in Karachi.

Expressing his views about digitization and transforming Pakistan’s public sector enterprises during the Summit, Ahmed Al-Faifihighlighted that Pakistan is blessed with a large group of dynamic youth. That given, digital literacy can be a huge asset. Pakistan can leverage SAP platforms to provide an enabling environment andcontribute to the country’s economy.

“Technology is there to help you grow economically and professionally;it focuses on transforming processes by keeping a track of technology trends. The objective of SAP is to make the life of their customers easy.”

Highlighting the importance of education, Al-Faifisaid that societies that strive to educate their people and focus on the right resource mobilizations will be leaders of the future. These societies target a better life for all, which is also the objective of SAP as an organization. He assertedthat technology has no geographical identity; it is global and for all to benefit from it.He was happy to see that Pakistan is steadily moving towards Artificial Intelligence; the market is bound to evolve and become a potential investment sector for international technology players.

During his visit, Ahmed Al-Faifi met with eminent personalities to further the scope of SAP Pakistan; he had a meeting with Secretary Railways, Mazhar Ali Shah to discuss the completion of Phase One and agenda of Phase 2 for the digital transformation of Pakistan Railways.

Accompanied by Saquib Ahmad, Country Managing Director, SAP Pakistan, Ahmed Al-Faifialso met with Chairman HEC, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, about the new initiative for enrolling young university students for IT trainings across Pakistan. Ahmed Al-Faifireiterated SAP’s agenda of providing free technology training to students, with an aim to impart skills that are key to the technology sector’s growth. The company plans on making an alliance with leading universities in the country for this project. He referred to cloud computing being integral to business demands for inducing agility and automation as compared to traditional data-center infrastructure.

His meeting with Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, Mr. Ahsan Iqbal focused on how to improve the technological dynamics of Pakistan to expedite growth. He said; “The commercial enterprises and the government sector are benefitting from SAP’s customized solutions for efficient service delivery in the public sector. Financial controls and efficient procurement procedures are a hallmark of SAP’s core business model and are contributing to Pakistan’s global standing in terms of transparency.”

SAP is cognizant of Pakistan’s needs for a viable IT future and is continuously redefining its scope to reach out to more and more of public and private companies. It ensures that the product is best suited for optimization of productivity in each sphere. It takes pride in being dedicated to synergizing its services for a more technology-driven Pakistan.
