KARACHI- Pakistan Excellence Club hosted a guest speaker program with Munawar Ali Mahesar Secretary Revenue, Board of Revenue, Government of Sindh, in order to acknowledge the contribution rendered by senior bureaucrat at Marriott Hotel Karachi.
The event was attended by a huge number of personalities including government officials, businessmen, civil society individuals and notable celebrities from electronic as well as print media and showbiz. On this occasion, Guest Speaker Munawar Ali Mahesar said that love is the centre of creation of this universe, so man should love to every creature of Allah and he should not be proud of himself, rather he should be humble and fair to all human. Munawar Ali Mahesar while addressing the key gathering the guest speaker program highlighted his life achievements, furthered referred to various verses from the Holy Quran and said that “Allah has instructed man in his holy book to love and respect the humanity, as everyone has to leave this world and no one is eternal in this world, hence why should we be arrogant, rather one’s politeness and humbleness earns him a high status in society”.
He further said that “patience proves one’s character and observing the patience, one can get success in this world as well as in eternal world”. He further quoted many verses from Holy Quran while stating that Allah has mentioned at many places in Quran Pak to serve humanity irrespective of any difference of cast, creed and colour. Furthermore, sharing his past he told that few people came from Punjab and visited him. A discussion took place regarding the Sufi Saints of Allah; they told him that he rendered his services during the previous year’s.
On the occasion of Qalandar Shahbaz’s Urs , he was the Deputy Commissioner of Jamshoro district, on that, he said there was a sufi saint/ fakeer, who did his best during the Urs of Qalandar Shahbaz. Later on, he told everyone that it was him who he was previously talking about. The point was that at this very moment he is in formal suit and during the celebrations of the Urs of Qalandar Lal Shahbaz, he was found in the traditional dress of the Sufi saints/ fakeers and himself was singing and dancing on the tune of Dhamaal of Qalandar Shahbaz.
After hearing this every individual present at the event got surprised and raised concerns that how a civil servant can be a sufi!? Mahesar clearing his point said that “the traditional dress code is not necessary for doing well to the humanity, rather it is just the intension of an individual and how does he play his role for betterment of the society. Chief patron Pakistan Excellence Club, Chairman Abdullah Builders and Past Rotary District Governor Muhammad Iqbal Qureshi said that “Mahesar Saab has taught us a lot of new things regarding the faith of Islam and wishes that they should be taught in the same pattern at the mosques and further wished that Mahesar should deliver such sermons in the mosques as well”.
He also added that he will establish a wall of excellence at Abdullah Mall in Hyderabad, which will have the pictures of individuals who have received PEC awards”. However, addressing the gathering Information Secretary, Government of Sindh, Rafique Ahmed Buriro highlighted the various aspects of Munawar Mahesar’s personalities and told the audience that Munawar Ali Mahesar is a very humble and down to earth person. Furthermore, he said that “I and Mahesar have worked together at several occasions at distinct times, but I always found him very simple, honest and an individual striving for the betterment of the ordinary people. He further added that Munawar Mahesar being the bureaucrat along with high intellectual power and potential from the very start of his career has proved himself as a very humble and compassionate man towards his junior colleagues and the people of the streets. He further said that any person belonging to any sort of society whenever came to meet Mahesar he offered them respect and love and tried his best to solve the problems of the people in need.
Moreover, while talking about the spiritual life of Mahesar he said that “Mahesar’s sufi bent of mind has earned him great regard and reverence not only among the Dargahs of Sindh but in the hearts of the people”. He further added that in spite of being a civil servant, Mahesar never hesitates to dance and sing on tunes of Sufi music and has always been found smiling and never complaining about anything or against anyone. Rafique also said that bureaucrats have always been observed as strict and rude in their behaviours. While looking at others, Mahesar is always found humble towards everyone and no one can feel that he is a bureaucrat while noticing his attitude and behaviour. He further said that Mahesar is a Sufi in suit and a Sufi officer and society needs such Sufi officers. He further said that individual’s character should be known in society, as individuals form the society and good people change the society, further added that in this regard Pakistan Excellence Club is playing a vital major role by honouring the services rendered by the civil servants, whereas in other fields, there are lot of platforms, who give awards to those, who have been rendering services in their fields to uplift the society, but civil servant has always been neglected and PEC is doing a wonderful job by giving awards to civil servants and acknowledging their services for the country and society.
Ex-Commissioner and Ex- Secretary Abdul Majeed Pathan while addressing the gathering said that Munawar Mahesar is such a humble and devoted individual who has played a massive role in the betterment of the society. He also said that Munawar is rightfully the correct person to be awarded with such honour irrespective to his services. Furthermore, he added that “today in this atmosphere officers should be recognized in their services. He also said that “Pak Army officers and soldiers have served their country with great devotion in order for the betterment of the country.”In that instance, Chairman Pakistan Excellence Club Hameed Bhutto addressing the gathering said that some four years back Pakistan Excellence Awards was brought into existence and since two years Pakistan Excellence Club has been established. Recently, three months back, Daily Excellence Karachi and Excellence Group have been brought into existence. Pakistan Excellence Club and its branches have been playing their role of being a bridge between the government and private sector by holding several programs and ceremonies. Furthermore, he added that since last two years PEC has been honouring those civil servants,
who are contributing in the field of public welfare and this time PEC’s Executive members decided to honour Munawar Ali Mahesar for his lofty services to the society. On this occasion, General Secretary Pakistan Excellence Club Syed Shakir Shah warmly welcomed the guests and appreciated their presence even at the time of Covid-19 spike in the country. He also said Excellence Club is the only forum that recognizes and awards such individuals who have played a massive role for the betterment of the country. Deputy Secretary School Education, Governemt of Sindh, Abdul Hafeez Mahesar said that Munawar Mahesar is role model for them regarding to their civil services career as well as being a good human being. He also added that “he has helped his junior a lot and such individuals are needed in the society and we are proud to have him”.
Former Judge and Senior Advocate Shahid Soomro paying rich tributes to Mahesar said that he is the symbol of service for the society and they must learn from Mahesar. Pakistan Excellence Club Executive Member and CEO Hussain Marketing Network Babar Abbasi said that “Munawar Mahesar has played a major role in the Revenue Department and has built a positive image of its department. While talking about Chairman PEC he said that “Hameed Bhutto is doing wonderful job by giving awards to outstanding heroes and in this regard, he demanded that they should demand government of Pakistan to award Sitara-e-Imtiaz to Hameed Bhutto”.
Chief Stamp Revenue Ghulam Abbas Naich said that Munawar Mahesar is a very humble and devoted fellow who has never shown a single bad impression of him. Chief Engineer Saeed Ahmed Jagirani said that “Such individuals like Munawar Mahesar are needed to be recognized and Pakistan Excellence Club is playing a big role in doing that “.Famous Writer Altaf Aseem said that Sufism is not a thing to be recognized easily, Munawar Mahesar portrayed his saint teachings/ fakeeri while being on service and his book Mi Raksham shows his profound love against Sufism. Vice President Sindh Bank Limited Dilawar Dakhan said that Munawar Mahesar has portrayed the faith of Islam in a very beautiful way and he is to be seen an individual with very polite and humble nature”.
