IBA Karachi Welcomes New Students at Orientation Gala 2026
IBA Karachi students and families attend Orientation Gala 2026.
The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi welcomed its newly inducted students at the Orientation Gala 2026 (OGala’26), held at the Main Campus on August 22 and 23.
The two-day event brought together around 2,500 people, including new students, parents, faculty members and staff. The programme aimed to introduce students to campus life and help them begin their academic journey with confidence.
Dr. S. Akbar Zaidi, Executive Director of IBA Karachi, welcomed the incoming students and their families. He said the orientation marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the students.
He encouraged the new cohort to explore the campus, connect with fellow students and become part of the wider IBA community.
Ms. Maheen Ghauri, Dean Student Success and International Engagement, also welcomed the students. She said OGala 2026 provided an opportunity for the new cohort to experience campus life and build early connections with their peers.
Students Explore Campus Life
The event featured a range of activities designed to familiarize students with the university environment. Games and interactive activities were arranged at the IBA Campus Connect Zone.

Student societies also established kiosks to introduce newcomers to different clubs, societies and extracurricular opportunities. In addition, Student Support Offices briefed students and their parents about the services available on campus.
Food stalls provided refreshments throughout the event. The first day concluded with a movie night, giving students another opportunity to socialize in an informal setting.
Qawwali Performance Highlights Gala
One of the major highlights of OGala 2026 was a special evening performance by the Ustad Farid Ayaz and Abu Muhammad Qawwal Group.
The soulful qawwali performance created a memorable atmosphere for students and guests. It added a cultural dimension to the orientation programme and drew enthusiastic appreciation from the audience.
The organisers said the thoughtfully planned gala provided new students with a warm introduction to the IBA community. The event also helped create new friendships and connections as students began their journey at the university.
