QUETTA, August 18, 2026: Security forces killed more than nine terrorists during intelligence-based Balochistan operations in several areas of the province, state media reported on Tuesday.
The operations were conducted in Ziarat, Harnai, and Surab under Operation Rad-ul-Fitna 3, according to Pakistan Television. Arms and ammunition were also recovered from the militants, state media reported.
The latest actions come amid continued security challenges in the region, as authorities have intensified intelligence-based actions against militant groups.

The operations targeted suspected militants in three key districts. Security forces carried out coordinated actions in Ziarat, Harnai, and Surab, resulting in the elimination of over nine terrorists.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants during these Balochistan operations, which were executed under Operation Rad-ul-Fitna 3. Authorities confirmed that such actions will continue as security concerns persist across the province.
Interior Minister Praises Security Forces
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces following the successful actions. According to a statement issued by his ministry on X, Naqvi commended the forces for their professional capabilities.
The statement noted that more than nine members of what the government terms “Fitna-al-Hindustan” were eliminated. Naqvi emphasized that targeted Balochistan operations against Fitna-al-Hindustan and Fitna-al-Khawarij are continuing with full force.

Series of Intelligence-Based Actions
Tuesday’s action follows several recent security actions across the region:
Monday: Security forces killed two terrorists and injured three others in Killi Zaik.
Sunday: Seven terrorists were killed during an action in the Lajay area of Kharan district.
Saturday: Ten terrorists were killed in the Shor Pard area of Khuzdar district.
Surab District: At least 18 terrorists were reported killed in earlier actions.
Balochistan Sees Sharp Rise in Security Incidents
The latest Balochistan operations come as security indicators in the province have deteriorated. A monthly assessment by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), released on July 31, highlighted a significant rise in violence:
Overall Deaths: Increased by 241% (from 109 in June to 372 in July).
Security Personnel Fatalities: Rose from 6 to 62 (a 933% increase).
Militant Deaths: Increased from 75 in June to 238 in July.
Civilian Fatalities: Rose from 28 to 54, alongside 18 peace committee members killed.
These figures underscore the scale of the challenge confronting authorities as intelligence-based Balochistan operations continue across affected districts.
