Chery Q electric vehicle set for launch at Pakistan Auto Show 2026

KARACHI : Chery Master Pakistan is set to launch the all-electric Chery Q at the Pakistan Auto Show (PAPS) 2026 on September 18. The launch comes as electric vehicles gain a larger share of Pakistan’s automobile market.

The company will reveal the Chery Q price and open bookings during the auto show. The model targets urban consumers seeking a practical additional car for daily commuting.

According to figures shared by Chery Master Pakistan, Pakistan’s new-energy vehicle (NEV) market grew by 392% during FY2025-26. The segment now represents around 15% of the overall automobile market.

The Chery Q uses a 42.7 kWh battery. It offers a claimed range of up to 400 kilometres under the NEDC cycle. The company also claims efficiency of up to 9.4 kilometres per unit.

Chery Q Designed for Urban Driving

The electric vehicle measures 4,195mm in length. It has a 2,700mm wheelbase, giving it a compact footprint for urban use.

At the same time, the company says the dimensions provide relatively spacious interiors. The vehicle also combines its electric powertrain with a range of driver-assistance and connectivity features.

The technology package includes Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). It offers 21 assistance features designed to support drivers in different road conditions.

In addition, the Chery Q features Automatic Parking Assist. A 15.6-inch 2.5K display provides the main interface for vehicle functions and connectivity.

The model also supports mobile connectivity and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality. This feature can allow the vehicle to supply power to compatible external devices.

EV Launch Targets Pakistan’s Solar Market

Chery Master Pakistan is also highlighting the connection between electric mobility and rooftop solar power.

Pakistan has seen rapid growth in household solar installations. Therefore, the company believes EV owners could use surplus solar generation to charge their vehicles.

According to estimates shared by the company, a conventional petrol vehicle travelling around 20,000 kilometres a year could consume about Rs488,000 in fuel.

By comparison, Chery Master Pakistan estimates that the annual energy cost for the Chery Q could fall to around Rs30,000. This calculation assumes real-world efficiency of about 7.2 kilometres per unit and access to surplus solar electricity.

However, actual costs will depend on electricity rates, driving patterns and charging conditions.

Solar Expansion Could Support EV Adoption

The solar-electric vehicle connection could become more important as rooftop solar penetration increases.

According to estimates shared by Chery Master Pakistan, Pakistan imported around 17GW of solar PV capacity during 2024. This has created a growing base of households with access to self-generated electricity.

Consequently, some households could use surplus solar power for vehicle charging instead of sending excess electricity to the grid.

The trend could support the wider adoption of electric vehicles. However, charging infrastructure, electricity availability and vehicle pricing will remain important factors for consumers.

Chery Expands New-Energy Portfolio

The Chery Q launch will add an all-electric urban mobility option to Chery Master Pakistan’s expanding new-energy vehicle portfolio.

Globally, Chery operates in more than 130 countries and has more than 20 million customers, according to the company.

In Pakistan, Chery operates in partnership with Master Group. The group has more than six decades of industrial experience.

Meanwhile, Chery Master Pakistan says it has established 15 3S dealerships in less than 10 months.

The company is now preparing to unveil the commercial details of its latest electric model.

Price and Bookings to Be Announced

Chery Master Pakistan will announce the Chery Q price and booking details at Pakistan Auto Show 2026.

The event is scheduled for September 18. The announcement will give potential buyers their first official indication of the model’s positioning in Pakistan’s electric vehicle market.

With EV demand rising and rooftop solar adoption expanding, the Chery Q launch comes at a significant time for Pakistan’s automotive industry.
