iPhone 18 Pro dominated this week’s smartphone headlines as fresh leaks revealed new battery details, launch plans, and hardware upgrades.
Reports claim the iPhone 18 Pro Max will feature Apple’s biggest battery ever in a Pro Max model. The physical SIM version may include a 5,235mAh battery. The eSIM version could offer an even larger 5,425mAh battery.
Leaks also suggest Apple will unveil the iPhone 18 Pro lineup on September 8. The company may introduce its first foldable smartphone, expected to carry the iPhone Ultra name, at the same event.
A leaked drop-test video showed the iPhone 18 Pro with a design almost identical to the iPhone 17 Pro. New dummy units also revealed the foldable iPhone Ultra in a black finish.

Another report says Apple may use different modem suppliers across markets. U.S. models could continue using Qualcomm modems. International versions may feature Apple’s in-house C2 modem.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi K90 Ultra in China. The flagship runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. It also features a built-in cooling fan and a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate.
The Redmi K90 Ultra includes a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. It packs a massive 8,550mAh battery with 100W fast charging. Xiaomi priced the phone at CNY 2,999 (about $441). Reports suggest the device will launch globally under the Poco brand.
Nothing also continued teasing the Phone (4b) before its July 7 launch. Live images revealed black, blue, and white color options.
The Phone (4b) is expected to feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display. It may also include the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset, a 50MP main camera, and a 6,000mAh battery.
Samsung also introduced the Galaxy A27 for early review. In addition, OnePlus launched the N6 in India.
The OnePlus N6 uses the MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Max processor. It also packs an 8,000mAh battery. OnePlus says the battery can retain more than 80% of its original capacity after seven years. The smartphone starts at INR 22,999 (around $243).
Apple’s launch event is drawing closer each week. As a result, new leaks continue to build excitement. Meanwhile, Android brands keep raising the bar with bigger batteries, faster charging, and stronger performance.
