Abdul Salam Dadabhoy: Appointed Acting Chairman of Consumers Association of Pakistan

Abdul Salam Dadabhoy takes charge as Acting Chairman of the Consumers Association of Pakistan.
Abdul Salam Dadabhoy has assumed the role of Acting Chairman of the Consumers Association of Pakistan> following his appointment by CAP Chairman Kokab Iqbal. The appointment took effect on 18 June 2026 during Kokab Iqbal’s official and personal visit to the United States.
According to the appointment letter, Dadabhoy will oversee the administrative affairs of the association throughout the chairman’s absence. He will supervise daily operations and ensure the organisation functions smoothly.
His responsibilities include chairing meetings, conferences, seminars and official events. He will also represent the Consumers Association of Pakistan before government departments, regulatory authorities, corporate organisations and other stakeholders.

The appointment authorises Dadabhoy to represent CAP in television talk shows, media programmes, press conferences and public forums. He will also coordinate with office bearers, committees and regional chapters to strengthen the association’s activities across the country.
In addition, he will lead preparations for the 17th Consumers Food Safety & Quality Conference & Award, one of the organisation’s flagship annual events.
The appointment letter makes it clear that the acting chairman will not hold financial authority. Banking operations, payments, receipts, financial approvals and contracts involving financial commitments will remain subject to the association’s existing rules and procedures.
The association has asked all office bearers, staff members, regional representatives, committees and affiliated bodies to extend their full cooperation to Dadabhoy during his tenure.
Announcing the appointment, Kokab Iqbal expressed confidence in Dadabhoy’s leadership. He said the association’s activities would continue efficiently and effectively during his absence.
