Saudi-Pakistan air connectivity received a boost after Saudi Arabia’s cabinet approved a new air transport services agreement with Pakistan, a move expected to strengthen travel and economic links between the two countries.
The approval was granted during a cabinet meeting chaired by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Jeddah, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Saudi media reported that the agreement formally approved cooperation between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of Pakistan in the field of air transport services.

The development builds on earlier efforts to improve aviation links. In August 2023, both countries signed an agreement designed to increase flight frequencies and help lower travel costs for passengers.
The latest agreement is considered significant given the strong movement of people between the two nations. Every year, thousands of Pakistanis travel to Saudi Arabia for Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages, while many others visit for employment and business purposes.
Saudi Arabia remains home to more than two million Pakistani expatriates, making air connectivity an important component of social and economic relations between the countries.
Pakistan has also continued efforts to expand aviation links with China and Central Asian countries as part of broader plans to strengthen trade, investment and regional cooperation.
Officials expect stronger transport connections to support travel demand and deepen bilateral engagement in the years ahead.
