The US president also announced that China had agreed to purchase 200 Boeing aircraft.
Moreover, he claimed the number could eventually increase to 750 planes.
Trump added that China was preparing to buy billions of dollars worth of American soybeans, which he said would benefit US farmers.
Remarks on Iran Nuclear Programme
Trump stated he had no objection to suspending Iran’s nuclear programme for 20 years.
Furthermore, he said he would decide whether to lift sanctions on Chinese companies purchasing Iranian oil.
According to Trump, both Washington and Beijing support efforts to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
Strait of Hormuz and Taiwan Comments
The US president said Xi Jinping wanted the Strait of Hormuz to remain open because nearly 40 percent of China’s trade passes through the strategic waterway.
Meanwhile, Trump said the United States had not given China any assurances regarding Taiwan.
He added that US policy on Taiwan had not changed and expressed confidence that no conflict would emerge over the issue.
Trump Rejects Reports on Iran’s Military Capabilities
Trump criticised a report by The New York Times regarding Iran’s remaining military capabilities, calling it “serious treason.”
He dismissed claims that 80 percent of Iran’s missile systems remained operational.

Comments on Negotiations and Global Leaders
Discussing negotiations with Iran, Trump said he rejected Tehran’s response because he disliked the opening line of the message.
He further claimed the United States could destroy Iran’s power plants within two days.
According to Trump, Iran’s nuclear material could eventually be transferred either to China or the United States.
Trump also repeated his criticism of former President Barack Obama, saying Iran would already have nuclear weapons if he had not withdrawn from the previous nuclear deal.
Speaking about Keir Starmer, Trump said the British prime minister was facing political difficulties due to his energy and immigration policies, although he described him as “a good man.”
The US president also praised Pakistan’s leadership, describing the country’s prime minister and field marshal as “great personalities.”
