Islamabad: The leadership of the Pakistan Romania Business Council (PRBC) held a high-level meeting at the President House aimed at enhancing investor confidence, improving institutional coordination, and strengthening legal frameworks supporting foreign investment and international business partnerships.

The PRBC delegation included Sohail Shamim Firpo and Atif Farooqi, who met with Zia ul Rasheed Abbasi at the President House.
During the meeting, participants discussed measures to strengthen institutional collaboration, improve bilateral trade facilitation mechanisms, and ensure effective implementation of legal and policy frameworks designed to encourage foreign investment and international economic cooperation.
The PRBC delegation briefed officials on the council’s ongoing initiatives focused on expanding economic and commercial ties between Pakistan and Romania, particularly in sectors including energy, technology, agriculture, and infrastructure development.
Zia ul Rasheed Abbasi appreciated the proactive role being played by PRBC in promoting Pakistan’s trade diplomacy and facilitating stronger international business engagement. He emphasized the importance of structured cooperation between business councils and government institutions to improve policy alignment and implementation efficiency.
During the discussions, Abbasi also highlighted the role of the Ombudsman institution and the Presidency as an appellate authority, explaining its mandate to provide relief to individuals as well as national and international organizations facing maladministration within government departments in Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Atif Farooqi stated that effective accountability and grievance redressal mechanisms are essential for strengthening governance, improving transparency, and building trust among both the public and foreign investors.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing institutional linkages and ensuring that emerging opportunities in Pakistan-Romania relations are backed by strong legal, regulatory, and administrative support systems.
The meeting concluded with a mutual understanding to continue close coordination and engagement to advance shared economic and trade objectives between the two countries.
