HYDERABAD: The JCI Alumni Club Hyderabad hosted a prestigious reception at Hyderabad Gymkhana to honor renowned philanthropist Muhammad Saeed Sheikh on receiving the Sitara-e-Khidmat, a civil award conferred by the President of Pakistan in recognition of his 45 years of humanitarian service and contributions to strengthening Pakistan–United States relations.

The event brought together prominent community leaders, professionals, and distinguished guests to celebrate Sheikh’s decades-long commitment to social welfare and international collaboration.
In his address, Muhammad Saeed Sheikh reflected on his journey, which began in Hyderabad through his association with Junior Chamber International (JCI) and expanded globally through humanitarian initiatives. He highlighted his role in coordinating disaster relief efforts, including mobilizing support during major flood crises in Pakistan.
As President of the Houston–Karachi Sister City Association, Sheikh has led several impactful initiatives, including the installation of clean drinking water reverse osmosis (RO) plants, provision of medical assistance to hospitals, youth development programs, and organizing one of Houston’s largest interfaith Iftar gatherings aimed at promoting unity and inclusion.
He paid tribute to the late Ashfaq Seth for his enduring contributions to community service and expressed special gratitude to Syed Javaid Anwar for his continued and unwavering support in advancing humanitarian causes. Sheikh also encouraged young people to dedicate themselves to service with integrity, perseverance, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Earlier, President of JCI Alumni Club Hyderabad, Dr. Naeem Memon, delivered the welcome address and congratulated the award recipient on his remarkable achievements. Senior JCI member Muhammad Hashim Sheikh shared reflections on their long-standing association and collaborative service efforts.
Other speakers at the event included President Hyderabad Gymkhana Dr. Agha Taj Muhammad, Honorary Secretary Engineer Tariq Bajari, and JCI member Aslam Khan Deswali, who commended Sheikh’s contributions to society.
The ceremony concluded with closing remarks by Project Chairman Amanullah Qasim, while Rizwan Ahmed conducted the proceedings. The reception served as a tribute to a lifetime of service and a source of inspiration for future generations.
