DHAKA: The British Deputy High Commissioner, James Goldman, held a series of high-level meetings with Bangladesh’s education leadership to discuss the country’s participation in the upcoming Education World Forum (EWF) 2026 scheduled to be held in London.
During the meetings, Goldman engaged with Education Minister A. N. M. Ehsanul Hoque Milan, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj, and Special Adviser to the Prime Minister Mahdi Amin. The discussions focused on Bangladesh’s role in the global education summit and opportunities for deeper collaboration in the sector.
The officials reviewed the importance of the Education World Forum as a premier international platform for education policymakers, where ministers and senior representatives from across the world gather to exchange policy insights, address challenges, and share best practices in education reform.
Bangladesh’s participation in key sessions of the forum was also discussed, with emphasis on engaging in dialogue with global counterparts to explore innovative approaches in primary, secondary, and higher education systems. The meetings highlighted opportunities for strengthening partnerships in teacher training, curriculum development, digital learning, and education governance.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing UK–Bangladesh cooperation in the education sector, particularly in areas aimed at improving access, quality, and inclusivity in learning systems.
The upcoming EWF 2026 is expected to provide a significant platform for Bangladesh to showcase its ongoing education reforms while building new international partnerships to support long-term development goals.
