Karachi: On the occasion of International Heritage Day 2026, stakeholders in Pakistan’s tourism, culture, and hospitality sectors have renewed their commitment to preserving the country’s rich historical and cultural heritage.

Nadeem Raza Shah, Founder and Promoter of Dekho Pakistan – Khoobsurat Pakistan and Executive Member of the FPCCI Standing Committee on Tourism Economy, emphasized the importance of understanding history and safeguarding cultural assets as a foundation for national development.
In his message, he highlighted that heritage is not merely a reflection of the past but a vital legacy that shapes national identity and future growth. He stressed that preserving historical sites, traditions, and cultural values is essential to strengthening Pakistan’s global image and promoting sustainable tourism.
“Heritage is not a luxury, it is a legacy. Our heritage is our pride,” he stated, urging collective efforts to protect and celebrate the country’s diverse cultural landscape.
He further called on institutions, communities, and policymakers to take active steps toward conservation, awareness, and responsible tourism practices. According to him, a nation deeply rooted in its heritage stands with dignity, purpose, and a strong sense of identity.
The message concluded with a call to renew national commitment to safeguarding cultural treasures for future generations, reinforcing the role of heritage in shaping a resilient and culturally rich Pakistan.
