Karachi: The Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) has welcomed the decision by Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab and the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to expand the U-turn located at Qayumabad in front of a private supermarket in Korangi.
KATI President Muhammad Ikram Rajput and Acting Patron-in-Chief Zubair Chhaya said the area had long faced heavy traffic congestion, particularly for vehicles heading towards the Shaheed Bhutto Expressway and other major arteries, often resulting in severe traffic jams. Acting on KATI’s request, the authorities initiated the U-turn expansion project, which has significantly improved traffic flow and led to a visible reduction in congestion.
They congratulated the Karachi Mayor and relevant KMC officials on this positive development and thanked them for addressing the concerns of the business community and the general public.
The KATI leadership noted that such timely infrastructure initiatives not only ease traffic movement but also play an important role in enhancing commercial and economic activities in the Korangi Industrial Area. They expressed hope that continued coordination and cooperation would help resolve other civic and infrastructure-related challenges facing the city in the future.
