Karachi, October 6, 2025: Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited (PMEX), in collaboration with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), inaugurated World Investor Week (WIW) 2025 — a global campaign by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) dedicated to promoting investor education, protection, and responsible financial practices.
Observed worldwide from October 6 to 12, this year’s campaign focuses on Technology & Digital Finance, Artificial Intelligence in Investments, Fraud Prevention, Crypto Assets, and the Basics of Investing — key themes shaping the future of financial markets.
The inaugural ceremony, graced by Mr. Zeeshan Rehman Khattak, Commissioner SECP, brought together leaders from Capital Market Institutions, Asset Management Companies, the Insurance Sector, and Academia, reaffirming their shared commitment to investor empowerment.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Khurram Zafar, CEO PMEX, remarked:
“Financial literacy is the strongest form of investor protection. PMEX remains dedicated to building a culture of informed and responsible investing through education, awareness, and technology-driven access.”
The ceremony marked the start of a week-long awareness drive featuring nationwide seminars, workshops, and outreach sessions aimed at equipping investors with the knowledge and confidence to navigate today’s dynamic financial landscape.
