OSAKA JAPAN : The four-day Pakistan Food Festival, held from June 23 to 26 under the theme “Flavours of Pakistan”, came to a vibrant conclusion at Expo 2025 Osaka, drawing thousands of international visitors with its rich culinary offerings, immersive displays, and warm hospitality. Organized by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), the festival turned food into a powerful medium of cultural diplomacy, and the display areas played a central role in bringing Pakistan’s culinary story to life.
Each day of the festival highlighted one of Pakistan’s culinary icons — not only through free tastings but also through beautifully curated thematic displays that reflected the tradition and story behind each food item.
The festival opened with the country’s favorite celebratory dish — Biryani. Visitors were treated to its signature aroma and flavor, while the display area featured different types and flavours of Biryani, spice jars, Basmati rice sacks, along with traditional raita and salad. The presentation reflected Pakistan’s deep-rooted culinary customs and the festive spirit associated with Biryani across the country.
On the second day, the spotlight turned to Pakistan’s most loved fruit — the mango. The display area was transformed into a golden orchard, with vibrant arrangements of mangoes laid out in beautiful formations, surrounded by traditional patterns and cut into elegant styles. A quiz competition added interactivity, while the display attracted hundreds of visitors for photos and mango tastings — many of whom declared them the best mangoes they had ever tasted.
Day Three celebrated the timeless elegance of Pakistani dates. The display area was a visual and sensory delight. Dates filled with almonds, pistachios, walnuts, and even sprinkled with matcha reflected both tradition and innovation. Plated with finesse and complemented by traditional nuts and refreshing date shakes, the setup was one of the most photographed corners of the festival. Visitors praised both the flavor and the craftsmanship of the presentation.
As the festival drew to a close, Day 4 brought together the stars of the past three days in a spectacular combined display of Biryani, Mangoes, and Dates. The area was reimagined as a vibrant culinary mosaic — trays of multiple types of Biryani, mango pyramids and fresh cuts shining under spotlights, and ornate platters of stuffed dates arranged side-by-side. With folk music and a lively crowd, this immersive display told the story of a country whose flavors are as rich and diverse as its people.
Beyond food, the Pakistan Food Festival reflected the essence of the country — warmth, tradition, and connection. Held as a sideline activity of the Pakistan Pavilion, which continues to be a standout at Expo 2025 for its pink rock salt-themed architecture, the festival amplified Pakistan’s cultural presence on the global stage.
As visitors walked away with full hearts and satisfied palates, the message was clear: Pakistan is not just a destination — it’s an experience.
