Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Adel Al Jubeir, arrived in Islamabad as tensions between Pakistan and India escalate following an incident in which dozens of Pakistani children were reportedly martyred due to Indian aggression. He was received by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, at the Foreign Office. Prior to his visit to Pakistan, the Saudi minister also made a stop in India. During his stay, he is scheduled to engage in high-level discussions with top Pakistani officials.

In a related development, Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya held a phone call with Ishaq Dar to discuss the growing regional unrest. Dar briefed him on India’s recent violations, which led to civilian casualties, including women and children. He stressed that while India continues to flout international law, Pakistan has shown restraint. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s determination to safeguard its sovereignty and security and emphasized the country’s commitment to protecting its citizens in the face of aggression.

The Japanese foreign minister expressed concern over the worsening situation, extended condolences for the civilian lives lost, and urged both countries to prioritize dialogue and diplomacy for a peaceful resolution.

Meanwhile, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif addressed the National Assembly, asserting that Pakistan’s armed forces are fully prepared to counter any Indian military actions. He stated that Pakistani forces are actively defending the country along the Line of Control and the working boundary. Asif highlighted the successful downing of five Indian fighter jets and several drones, describing these actions as a blow to Indian morale. He praised the courage of the armed forces and noted that the entire nation, including political parties and civil society, stands united in support of the military.
