Pakistan has agreed to strengthen its cooperation with Belarus in various sectors, including industry, media, tourism, and other vital economic areas.

The decision was made on Monday during the Eighth Session of the Pakistan-Belarus Joint Ministerial Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, held in Minsk. The meeting brought together Pakistan’s Commerce Minister, Jam Kamal Khan, and Belarusian Energy Minister, Aleksey Kushnarenko.

According to Radio Pakistan, both sides committed to expanding industrial collaboration, particularly in agricultural machinery, transportation, and industrial equipment.

Moreover, they pledged to enhance cooperation in health care, pharmaceuticals, seed production, livestock, veterinary medicine, and fisheries to strengthen food security and trade between the two nations.

Pakistan and Belarus celebrated 30 years of diplomatic relations in 2024. Earlier this year, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko visited Islamabad, where he met key civilian and military leaders, including Pakistan’s prime minister and army chief.

Pakistan and Belarus have a longstanding history of economic cooperation, dating back to the first Joint Economic Commission in 2015, which focused on the textile, pharmaceutical, and lighting industries. The latest agreements signal a continued commitment to strengthening bilateral trade and investment opportunities.
