QUETTA, December 12, 2024: The art exhibition Rang Baatain Karein (Colours May Speak) is underway at the Balochistan Baithak Gallery, DHA Quetta. The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. Hamza Shafqat, Commissioner Quetta.
This vibrant showcase is a thesis display by the graduating class of 2024 from the Fine Arts Department of Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering & Management Sciences (BUITEMS).
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the commissioner lauded the exceptional talent of the young artists and highlighted the importance of fostering creative spaces for youth to thrive. The exhibition features the works of eleven promising artists, each bringing a unique blend of personal narratives and universal themes to their art.
Among the highlights, Noor Fatima uses color psychology to reflect the tragedies of Gaza, while Sumaiya Rajput employs lenticular art techniques to present layered storytelling. Nisar Ali’s canvases explore self-reflection and identity, and Maqsood Taran showcases his command over printmaking with vibrant depictions of nature.
Other standout works include Aiza Habib’s intricate dreamscapes, Hamna Nibras’ exploration of internal conflict through printmaking, and Saher Amjed’s immersive installation depicting the Scythian civilization.
The exhibition is a celebration of Balochistan’s rich artistic potential and resilience, presenting a blend of contemporary techniques and traditional influences.
Rang Baatain Karein is open to the public from December 9 to December 14, 2024, at Balochistan Baithak Gallery in DHA Quetta. This remarkable showcase invites art enthusiasts to experience the power of creativity and the enduring spirit of Balochistan’s youth.
