Lahore 06 June 2024 : The news about the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) starting an investigation against the former Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Khaqan Murtaza, concerning allegations of corruption and the purported low sale of Walton Airport in Lahore for PKR 50 billion is baseless and solely based on an application submitted to NAB by the Aircraft Owners and Operators Association (AOOA) and other parties who are already convicted for corruption charges. We would like to clarify that these false allegations were floated by the AOOA and other applicants. The NAB has issued a questionnaire to the applicants, which they have not yet provided to NAB. Applicants has only submitted the application and has not provided any proper evidence or statement to support their claims. NAB has not issued any official notice to the former DG of CAA or to Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority recently, specifically concerning land matters of Walon Airport. We assert that the claims made by the AOOA are entirely false and baseless, lacking any factual basis and not reflecting the reality of the situation. This news is totally false and is being pushed to damage the image and integrity of a loyal civil servant.
