Karachi – Dr. Aftab Imam, the District Governor for Rotary International 3271 for the year 2021-22, expressed his thoughts on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. He emphasized that this festive time is an opportunity to fill our hearts with blessings. Dr. Aftab Imam highlighted the importance of spreading joy and happiness, especially by remembering those who are less fortunate on this special day. He emphasized that Eid is a divine gift for Muslims who have dedicated the month to fasting, worship, and good deeds. Dr. Aftab Imam called for unity and the resolution of conflicts during Eid-ul-Fitr, in order to fully embrace the spirit of celebration. Drawing parallels between Eid and Ramadan, he stressed the significance of helping those in need, as serving others is the true purpose of life. He urged for inclusivity by celebrating not only with fellow Muslims, but also with the minority community. Dr. Aftab Imam acknowledged the challenges faced by the impoverished due to inflation, making it difficult for many to afford new clothes or meet essential needs during Eid. He advised those who are more fortunate to involve their household staff and the underprivileged in their celebrations, seeking the pleasure of Allah. Dr. Aftab Imam concluded by mentioning that global festivities usually come with reduced commodity prices, allowing everyone to participate with enthusiasm.
