Italy: Today, the Piedmont anthem was unveiled and performed for the first time. The anthem, titled “Ël Drapò a deuv vive,” was composed by maestro Fulvio Creux and features lyrics from two poems by Camillo Brero, a renowned writer and poet.
The decision to adopt the anthem came after a recommendation from the Gianni Oberto Center, followed by the approval of a specific amendment to the 2024 reorganization law by the Regional Council.
The inaugural performance took place at the Belvedere of Palazzo Lascaris, with the ArsNova Orchestra providing the musical accompaniment. The anthem was sung by Ilaria Quilico as soprano and Dario Prola as tenor.
Moving forward, the score of “Ël Drapò a deuv vive” will be distributed to all band and music associations in Piedmont. Additionally, it will be made available to cultural associations upon request.
The Regional Council has decided that the anthem will be played during regional institutional anniversaries, ceremonies, commemorations, and other official events in the presence of regional authorities.
The anthem’s lyrics, which celebrate the history and spirit of Piedmont, reflect the region’s pride and cultural heritage.
