President of SITE Association of Industry Suleman Chawla, has expressed deep concerns over very low gas pressure in SITE area Karachi and demanded the SSGC to immediately restore gas of industrial sector with required pressure to continue the industrial production otherwise, production will come to a halt completely.
In a statement issued, Suleman Chawla said that in a meeting held recently at Sindh Governor House, the representatives of industrial associations were given assurance that gas pressure will improved from Monday (13/7) but SSGC has not kept their promise and from the last 2 days, SITE area industries are getting very low gas pressure which is almost zero and badly effecting industrial production.
Expressing anguish over the current situation, Chawla said that it is very well known to the government that country will prosper if the wheels of industry keep on moving. But unfortunately, such actions of the government are creating hurdles in the way of industrial production and we fail to understand the will of the government.
“We are already fighting with COVID-19 pandemic since last 5 months. It is unfortunate that everyday such steps are taken by govt. which makes running of industries difficult”, added SITE president.
Suleman Chawla has demanded the government to take immediate steps to restore gas to SITE industries with required pressure and show seriousness in promoting industrial activities in the country which is vital to boost exports and create employment avenues.
