A One-Day Workshop on Dissertation Writing of M. Phil and Ph. D Programs was held at Students Societies Centre, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur organized by the Department of Archaeology. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor inaugurated the workshop while Prof. Dr. Uzma Z. Rizvi, Department of Social Sciences & Cultural Studies, Pratt Institute USA was the Resource Person.
Talking to the participants of the workshop, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said such types of the workshop will strengthen the capacity building of the new research scholars embarking their research work in multidisciplinary fields. He said it is the time of collaborative research. Dr. Ibupoto said writing dissertation is an art because it is the piece of the research work which reflects the contribution of scholar. He announced that Interdisciplinary Research Institute will be established at University to promote the collaborative research. He appreciated the efforts of Prof. Dr. Tasleem Alam Abro, Chairperson Department of Archaeology and Prof. Dr. Agha Nadia, Director Institute of Gender Studies for organizing this result oriented workshop.
Prof. Dr. Uzma Z. Rizvi focused on the key steps towards writing dissertation. She said selection of topic, development of proposal, conducting research, writing thesis and editing and proof reading are imperative for multidisciplinary research.
Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences appreciated the visionary approach of Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor for promoting the research culture at the campus. He highlighted the significance of research in the society. The advance countries are developed as result of their research contribution. He also welcomed the participants of the workshop.
Prof. Dr. Khalida Mahar, Prof. Dr. Amir Ali Mallah, Ms. Maria Maitlo, Ms. Paras Niaz Khaskheli, Mr. Ali Raza Lashari and large number of registered research scholars attended the workshop.
