Islamabad: The Federal Warehouse Complex of the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI), restored by United States Agency for International Development (USAID), has been proved highly result oriented, as the facility was turned into a state-of-the-art and distribution facility with improved storage space and conditions, and has turned core fighting against COVID-19
USAID also supported EPI for installed active cold rooms to deep vaccines and diluents within the prescribed temperature range during storage until it gets transported.
Charge d’ affaires, at US Embassy in Islamabad, William A. Steuer, while visiting the warehouse facility expressed, that United States would continue to work with Pakistan to fighting the COVID-19, as the pandemic was not over yet.
He said the United States has so far donated over 23 million COVID-19 vaccine doses to Pakistan.
William Steuer commended the outstanding performance of the government of Pakistan, for tackling the Pandemic in such an effective and tangible way. He congratulated Pakistan on reaching the milestone of administering 100 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines last week.
Vaccine Logistics Management Information System (VLMIS), at the Warehouse is helping EPI staff to monitor the vaccine supply chain across the country.
The Federal EPI Warehouse has efficiently stored vaccines, for multiple immunizations over several years.
It goes without saying, if Pakistan didn’t have such a huge and vigorous facility available in the country, it would not have been able to receive and store vaccines. So, the facility gifted by US to Pakistani people has proved great source to save many lives of citizens, as they are getting timely vaccines.
